How does Morpheus8 work?

At Meeting Point Health, we use Morpheus8 to provide you with the most advanced microneedling treatments. Morpheus8 uses SARD technology (subdermal adipose remodeling device) with radiofrequency (RF) to work deep in the skin and fat, recontouring the skin and shape of the face and body. Morpheus8 technology is safe on all skin tones. The RF microneedling device only emits RF from the tip of the needle after insertion, protecting the superficial layers of the skin from overheating and hyperpigmentation. Morpheus8 can reach deeper into your skin to correct imperfections than any other device on the market.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a procedure in which multiple tiny, sterile needles are used to puncture the skin and cause physical disruption. This disruption prompts the derma, a deeper layer of skin, to regenerate a healthier thicker layer of glowing collagen. Microneedling is also referred to as collagen induction therapy, dermarolling, or skin needling.

Morpheus8 is a revolutionary new device that uses radiofrequency (RF) heating with microneedling to improve the appearance of the skin and body. It is a handheld device that delivers RF energy through the tips of tiny needles, which helps stimulate the production of collagen and elastin and melt excess fat cells. This can reduce the appearance of sagging skin, fine lines and wrinkles, and other signs of aging.

what to expect from your appointment

Before your Morpheus8 microneedling appointment, you will want to avoid sun exposure and any exposure to skin irritants that may impede healing. Arrive at your appointment with clean skin that is free of lotion, makeup, perfume, powder, or bath oil.

Morpheus8 treatments take approximately 1 hour. Pain relief options are available and include numbing creams, ProNox and lidocaine. If you are doing microneedling alone, the procedure itself will last approximately 20 minutes.

One of the advantages of Morpheus8 microneedling is that you will see results almost immediately, with the most dramatic results taking up to three or four weeks to appear. Optimal results are achieved with at least 3 treatment sessions.

Good candidates for Morpheus8 treatment are healthy adults who want a less-invasive alternative to plastic surgery to help reduce signs of aging, scarring, and skin damage. All skin types- dry, normal, oily, or sensitive – can benefit from Morpheus8 treatment.

The Morpheus8 is effective for a wide range of skin problems. This device’s sharper needles cause tiny punctures in the skin and provide superior patient comfort without tugging or pulling at the skin as compared to other devices. At Meeting Point Health, we also use any combination of topical numbing agents, nerve blocks, lidocaine, and Pronox to make your procedure comfortable and relaxing.

The Morpheus8 color-blind technology may be utilized on all skin tones (Types 1-6), which is an advantage over competing products. By manipulating depth and RF energy, Morpheus treatments do not damage the melanin in the epidermis.

The procedure can be done on any area of the body that would benefit from sub-dermal rejuvenation. Wrinkle, discoloration, or acne scarring may be treated in areas of the face and body with creases, marks, or scars. Common treatment areas include:

  • The lower face and neck perfect for wrinkles, active acne, and scars
  • Around the eyes for brightening and tightening
  • Abdomen for sagging skin or c-section scars due to aging or post-pregnancy
  • Buttocks and thighs – cellulite, contouring, stretch marks, scars
  • Above the knees – sagging skin over the knees due to aging
Visible results can be seen within a few days. Collagen repair and fat remodeling begin at 3 weeks post-procedure and are optimal at 3 months out.

Microneedling is often combined with other cosmetic treatments to provide the best results. At Meeting Point Health, we have various treatments that we combine safely and effectively with Morpheus8 microneedling.

  • Morpheus RF Microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma

Following your Morpheus8 treatment, we will apply your own PRP (platelet-rich plasma) topically over the treated area. PRP recruits your own stem cells and collagen growth factors. Do not wash the PRP off until the following morning.

  • Microneedling without RF

Microneedling also referred to as collagen induction therapy, can also be done without radio-frequency heating. This type of microneedling does not penetrate quite as deep as the Morpheus device and can be combined with various regenerative topicals for scar treatments, skin resurfacing, and hair loss.

  • Microneedling with Platelet Rich Plasma or Platelet Rich Fibrin Matrix

When doing microneedling without RF, we can first apply your own PRP or  PRFM to your skin and then follow this with the microneedling procedure. Both PRP and PRFM promote skin rejuvenation and collagen production.

  • Microneedling with Peptides

At Meeting Point Health, we also perform microneedling with peptides (GHK) and stem cell growth factors (exosomes). Combining microneedling with these powerful but natural Biologics can have profound results, especially with very fine lines and scarring.

  • AquaGold Facial

AquaGold is a microneedling procedure in which a proprietary blend of your PRP, hyaluronic acid, Vitamin C, B12, lidocaine, and micro-doses of Botox is superficially injected into the skin. This results in immediate beautiful and glowing skin and is an excellent choice for your next big event.

  • Neurotoxins and Dermal Fillers

If you are also hoping to get Botox or fillers, we recommend doing Morpheus first, then coming back for your injectable treatments 2 weeks later.

  • Hydradermabrasion

If you are looking to combine hydradermabrasion with your microneedling treatment, we can use our Cytopeel Hydro Dermabrasion device to clean and prep the surface of your skin before your microneedling procedure. Cytopeel and AquaGold are amazing same-day treatments that can give your skin a clean, tight, and healthy glow.

Microneedling is considered safe, but as with any safe and effective procedure, there are some risks, including an allergic reaction or skin infection. We will advise you on minimizing these risks by avoiding irritating soaps and lotions. You may have temporary bruising, redness, and swelling of treated skin areas following your procedure.

Meeting Point Health does not accept insurance.

Our practitioners and staff fully understand and empathize with the challenges that patients face as they make financial decisions for proper health care. Our practice is very different from a conventional medical practice in many ways, but the time spent with each patient is usually 30-90 minutes. Visits with a physician covered by insurance generally allow for less than 10 minutes in total! Conventional medical practices that take insurance maintain brief office visits and high patient loads for this reason. We cannot provide the expert care that every one of our patients deserves under those circumstances.

Insurance also dictates the types of treatments and order of treatments patients can receive for a particular condition.

Opting out of insurance allows the patient and the doctor to maintain their medical autonomy, which is imperative to ensure you get the right treatment at the right time and the right dose.

To start your journey to relief, schedule a consultation with our team. During your initial visit, we’ll assess your medical history, perform a thorough evaluation, and develop a customized treatment plan to address your specific needs.
